Dr. Magnani, D.D.S., FICD, FACD
Dr. Thomas Magnani is a graduate of Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, class of 1980, and has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years. He is an assistant clinical professor at Columbia Dental School, serves on the admissions committee, and is the president of the 1852 Society. He is a member of the New York Academy of Dentistry, American Dental Association, the New York County Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and a fellow of the American Academy of Osseointegration.
In May 2014, Dr. Magnani received the “Distinguished Alumni Award” from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He has also been selected for Fellowship in the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Mary Magnani D.D.S.
Dr. Mary Elizabeth Magnani is a graduate of Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, class of 2017. While at Columbia she served as the Treasurer and Vice President of the American Student Dental Association and was a teaching assistant for the preclinical curriculum. She received the Award of Excellence, recognizing leadership to the students, school, and community, from the American Student Dental Association in 2017. She completed a 2 year residency in advanced education in general dentistry at New York Presbyterian Hospital in 2019, where she also served as a resident teaching assistant on the predoctoral clinic floor. She participated in two global outreach programs to the Dominican Republic as a dental assistant in 2012 and as a resident in 2018.
As the daughter of Dr. Thomas Magnani, Dr. Mary Magnani has grown up in our office and started working here when she was 13 years old. She is excited to be back with our team as a dentist. When outside the office, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, golfing, skiing, reading and watching her favorite show, Survivor. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Society.
Dr. Fine, D.D.S.
Dr. James Burke Fine: Dr. Fine is Board Certified in Periodontics. He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1982. He completed a general practice residency program at Misercordia Hospital in the Bronx in 1982-83. From 1983-84 he completed a residency in general practice and implants at Brookdale Hospital under the direction of Dr. Norman Cranin. He recieved his certificate in periodontics from Fairleigh Dickinson University College of Dental Medicine in 1984-86. He is the Associate Dean of post graduate programs and the director of post-graduate periodontics at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He has a faculty practice at Columbia University Medical Center and a private practice in Hoboken, New Jersey, which is limited to periodontics and implants. He is a member of the New York Academy of Dentistry, a fellow in the American College of Dentistry, a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, a member of the American Dental Association, and a member of the Hudson County Dental Society.
